Separate working area from installation space
Working area answers one planar question. Body dimensions, bench/support, access route, workholding, moving work and the exact installation clearances answer different questions.
LONGER B1 20W Basic Set
Stated planar working area: 450 × 440 mm. This is a manufacturer statement, not a body or clearance measurement.
A part outline against the stated area
Same scale, unrotated planar example: 420 × 400 mm. The solid surface is the source-stated work area; the dashed copper outline is the example part.
LONGER B1 20W Basic Set
Stated work area: 450 × 440 mm
Outline is contained on both axes.
LONGER RAY5 20W configuration reference
Stated work area: 400 × 365 mm
Outline exceeds the stated area on at least one axis.
Original source-based diagram, not a machine image or tested fit. It excludes clamps, material suitability, access and operating clearances. No settings or installation approval follows.

Three boundaries to keep apart
Working area: where a source defines a processing region.
Machine body: the separate external dimensions.
Access and operation: loading, lids, cables, extraction, service and a person may need more space; its amount remains unresolved.
Original conceptual diagram. These rectangles are not a particular machine, proportional geometry or a clearance recommendation. Resolve exact installation instructions and room constraints separately.
A transparent geometry example
Compare a 420 × 400 mm rectangle with the stated 450 × 440 mm planar area. Both selected axes are within the stated area. That comparison excludes clamping margins, usable travel, material processing, thickness, body space and installation. It does not validate a finished part or layout.
Enter the part dimensions in the chooser, inspect the matching area evidence and separately list the unresolved workspace requirements. If you permit rotation, say so; do not silently rotate a physical part.
Check your reasoning
A bed rectangle is not a floor plan. Even a known body footprint does not establish an extraction route, delivery access or operating clearance.
